Epicenter Located Off Coast
On Wednesday, El Salvador was struck by an earthquake measuring 6.1 in magnitude.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located off the coast, approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of the capital city of San Salvador.
Tremors were felt throughout the region, including in neighboring Guatemala and Honduras.
No Initial Reports of Damage or Injuries
According to officials, there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries as a result of the earthquake.
Authorities are currently assessing the situation and conducting further investigations.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 59 kilometers (37 miles), which is considered relatively deep.
No Tsunami Warning Issued
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has not issued a tsunami warning in response to the earthquake.
However, residents in coastal areas have been advised to remain cautious and follow any instructions from local authorities.
