The announcement was made by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia after the sighting of the crescent moon over Tumair and Sudair on Friday evening.
Holiday for Private and Non-Profit Sectors
In line with the official announcement, the Saudi government has declared a four-day holiday for employees in the private and non-profit sectors from Saturday, April 22 to Tuesday, April 25, 2023. This is to allow Muslims to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with their families and loved ones.
During the holiday, government offices, banks, and most businesses will be closed to observe the festivities. However, some essential services, such as hospitals and pharmacies, will remain operational.
