Early Life and Family

Patricia Edwina Victoria Mountbatten was born on February 14, 1924, in London. She was the only daughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and his wife, Edwina Ashley.

Patricia's father was a distinguished naval officer and statesman, who served as the last Viceroy of India. Her mother was a socialite and philanthropist.

Patricia was educated at home and at the Royal School of Needlework.

Marriage and Family

In 1946, Patricia married the 7th Earl of Mountbatten of Burma, John Louis Mountbatten. The couple had two daughters, Amanda and Sarah.

Career and Philanthropy

After her divorce, Patricia pursued a career in nursing. She worked as a nurse at the Royal Free Hospital in London.

Later Life and Controversies
