Eat This One Superfood To Slash Your Heart Disease Risk Says Top Scientist

Eat this one superfood to slash your heart disease risk, says top scientist

Professor Tim Spector reveals eating more of this food could cut your risk of heart disease by a third

The gut microbiome expert says one food group in particular could help with blood pressure, heart health and reduce inflammation

Fibre-rich foods include:

  • Legumes (beans, lentils, peas)
  • Many green veggies (spinach, artichokes, leeks)
  • Fruits

Professor Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology at King's College London and founder of the Zoe health app, says eating more fibre could significantly cut your risk of heart disease.

He says one superfood in particular could slash your risk by a third.

The suggestions he makes would also help with blood pressure, heart health and reduce inflammation.

One-size-fits-all diets have been disproven, they've been shown to be ineffective in the long term.

Professor Tim Spector has spoken many times about the health perils of ultra-processed foods - which make up around 50 per cent of the average UK diet.

We sat down with Professor Tim Spector, one of the world's leading gut microbiome researchers, to get his take on the latest research on fibre and heart health.
