Second Season Debuts with Eight Episodes

Preceded by Season 1's Tragic Finale

HBO's highly anticipated fantasy prequel series, "House of the Dragon," has returned for a second season, premiering on June 16, 2024. The eight-episode season follows the aftermath of King Aegon II's coronation and the tragic death of Queen Aemma Arryn.

In anticipation of the second season's premiere, HBO also announced that the series has been renewed for a third season. Set 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones," "House of the Dragon" delves into the history of House Targaryen, narrated by Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, and Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

The first season ended with a heart-wrenching cliffhanger, leaving fans eager to learn the fate of their beloved characters. The second season promises to be just as captivating, exploring the complexities of power, loyalty, and betrayal within the fictional realm of Westeros.
