JJ Redick To Become Lakers Head Coach
The Former NBA Player And ESPN NBA Analyst Will Take Over For Frank Vogel
Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a four-year contract with JJ Redick as the team's next head coach, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Redick, 38, played 15 seasons in the NBA, averaging 12.8 points per game. He was a two-time All-Star and helped the Milwaukee Bucks win the 2021 NBA championship. Since retiring from the NBA, Redick has worked as an NBA analyst for ESPN.
The Lakers are expected to add multiple former head coaches to Redick's staff, people with knowledge of the staff recruitment said.
Redick will be the 27th head coach in Lakers franchise history. He replaces Frank Vogel, who was fired after the Lakers finished 33-49 this season.
